The company maintains ties with the International Center of Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Colombia and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT),Mexico. Moreover, SEFO has commercial contacts with seed companies in Noth, Central and South America. At the national level, the work of the company is supported by the proyecto AgroLeg and the Centro de Investigación en Forrajes (CIF-UMSS), Cochabamba, and the Centro de Investigación Agrícola Tropical CIAT (Santa Cruz). These prestigious institutions develop and test new varieties, provide genetic and basic seeds, produce inoculants of Rhizobium and Bradyrhizobium, carry out agronomic or economic research, and take part in extension activities. Further, SEFO has close links with numerous non-governmental organizations, cooperatives and associations of producers, and dairy industry and rural development projects. |
